Dr. Shah had gloves on at the beginning of the visit and then used the computer keyboard. Then he tried to examine me without changing his gloves. The CNA who brought me from the lobby to the examination room, touching all doors and equipment to take my vitals, had just used that same keyboard with her dirty hands before the doctor did. The keyboard is not sanitary. And staff, especially doctors who touch your face, should not be touching the dirty keyboard and then touching patients. Also, the doctor didn't like that I asked him to change his gloves - said they were clean. He knows better. I also had trouble with the receptionist. I asked to pay my bill and her response was "it's not asking for payment". (Presumably she was referring to the computer). I explained several times and each time she gave me the same response, verbatim - at least FOUR times. I am "behind" on one Advocate payment already because the check I sent hasn't seemed to arrive (or hasn't been processed), so I keep getting bills for $30. I don't want that to happen again. That's why it is important to me to pay at the time of service. It shouldn't be that hard! The fact that I had to argue with staff to make a payment is shocking and I hope it shocks you. I was able to get another staff member to quickly help me, but you might want to train staff better in terms of customer service skills and to happily accept payments when offered. Really bad experience with Advocate. I will probably switch to Swedish or Rush when I can.
