Last week I showed up for my appointment and this doctor had simply left for the day, despite my appointment being on the calendar for a long time and the fact that I had done a pre-check in. That has to be mentioned as part of this evaluation. The appointments I have had most recently with my other doctors were 100% different...they were present, they answered all my questions and even proactively added insights or advice to what they thought I needed to know. This doctor did not really explain anything and did not seem even open to questions. When I asked about something that had come up in a recent diagnostic test that I felt was important to understand, he dismissed it and gave no real explanation for why that situation might have developed or clear understanding of potential concerns or a potential plan for monitoring it or further action. My other doctors know my health history and are truly invested in helping me feel informed, aware of "next steps", and make me feel they are on top of ongoing health issues. I feel like they care and are holistically watching over my health. I don't feel that way with this doctor. I am sorry to say that, but I also feel that it needs to be said.
