My first visit. Finally, someone answering my health concerns! I knew something was wrong and this was addressed
The nurse practitioner sent me down for lab work and an x-ray immediately after my appointment. Front desk said the order was in but they couldn't do the lab work that day. The employee wasn't quite sure why. Something to do with their system(?). So I'm going back Monday and hopefully it'll be resolved she said.
It was helpful to see Maria. I think over the last several months I have struggled with this office and my primary care provider. As someone who struggles with chronic illness, I have called the office several times for several different things, and the office has been very very slow to respond to messages, I have had to follow up on messages that were never sent to my doctor, etc. When responding to messages, the office seemingly hasn't read my whole message, doesn't understand my health history, etc. I have experienced this poor communication over the last few months and I'm not sure if it is Advocate, this particular staff, or perhaps poor timing at Advocate but it has been very disappointing and difficult to navigate. It would be comforting and helpful to have a doctor, nurse practitioner, and staff that understand the health history of their patients, especially the ones that are seen very very often and have to deal with going to the doctor more often than most.
She is wonderful to work. She took a lot of time with me and was great with explaining things to me.
