We started out poorly, he was obviously rushed. He hadn't even spoke with me and made a comment like "I don't do chronic vicodin treatment". He didn't even know why I had been taking so much lately (it was for an acute issue with my jaw that couldn't be isolated for several months, now corrected). But I also take a fair amount for unresolved headaches of 49 years. Don't judge me, after a dozen neurologists, piles of tests, innumerable drugs, and hundreds of thousands of dollars my doctor of 40 years found vicodin actually works. And no side effects. Imitrex works great for my migraines, but I get 3 distinctly different types of headaches and can end up in the ER. It's time for the Healthcare system to get off the 'opioid epidemic' train. The pendulum has swung too far and villianized a good drug. Educate your doctors....opioid addiction is a choice, but for me it's been lifesaving. By time my visit with Dr Napier had concluded he was very kind and compassionate. He also stated my case was complicated and referred me to a doctor specializing in headaches.
