I was instructed to make an imaging appointment and to make sure I could see the doctor 30 minutes after the ultrasound. When I called the scheduler, he said he had no way of making the follow-up appointment with the doctor, so he transferred me to the doctor's office. When I told them when my ultrasound appointment was, they said the doctor is not in that day so could not see me. I became very frustrated. How am I supposed to schedule an ultrasound with one office and then a check-in with the doctor 30 minutes afterward, if no one can see both schedules?? This was a very time-consuming task (I spent over an hour on the phone, going back and forth to both offices). The instructions the doctor gave me should have included specific suggestions for times I should try to schedule the ultrasound. I hope I was not rude to the doctor's office when I expressed my frustration. I am grateful for the medical care. Especially because of the blood loss I am experiencing--which is the reason for the doctor visit--I am dramatically fatigued. I am not as able as I would be normally to manage a complex and time-consuming requirement to make two unrelated offices coordinate their appointments for me.
