Sitting in the clinical room waiting for the Doctor to appear is very frustrating and should be more timely to the patient.

I don't understand why, when I have a 9:20am appointment, I am called out of the waiting room 20 minutes past the appointment time. Furthermore, when I am coming in for a physical and a med check, why aren't the orders already done so the nurse can draw blood, perform the EKG and give me a urine sample cup to fill. Instead I sit another 20 minutes after vitals are taken for the doctor comes in for the exam. Afterwards, the blood is drawn and EKG administered. Then I have to wait for the Doctor to review the EKG and tell me the results. The whole time I am holding my bladder to fill the specimen cup with urine at the very end as I am walking out the door a full 1 hour and 30 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. Needless to say, I am disappointed in how long it takes from the time my appointment is supposed to start until I leave the office. The labs should be ordered in advance to fill the time before the doctor can see me.

Setting up appts with my PCP is always a problem because he is my only doctor that I can't call directly. Calling his office gets my to your phone center where I have to explain to a nurse why I'm calling and she relays the message. Then I have to wait for a call back. Why can't I call his office directly like I do my cardiologist and my kidney specialist. It is quite annoying!!

The blood pressure measurement was disappointing. Hypertension is my main concern. The nurse brought down the pressure so quickly that the measurement could not be valid. It was reported on my chart as 112/60. I measure my BP almost daily. Common readings are 140/90. Later that day I gave blood. The measurement was 145/90. BP is a primary metric for health. There needs to be much greater care in making a blood pressure reading.

On-line appointment booking and pre-check in really need a text box for "what is the purpose of the appointment?" that the patient answers and the provider reads before the appointment.
