My doctor is great but this most recent time there was a situation that made me unhappy. I had an 11:45 appointment and they called me at 8:30 in the morning to ask if I could come in earlier. I told them I would try but I live an hour away so it wouldn't be by much. While I was driving, they called me again at 11:25 to ask if I would be at the office soon. I told them I was about 5 minutes out. They told me that the doctor needed to leave and they would have to reschedule me if I wasn't there shortly. I reminded them that my appointment was set for 11:45 and they said that they called earlier to tell me that I needed to come in earlier. I told them that I was was never told that my appointment would be cancelled if I didn't come in and that I was just asked if I could come in early if possible. She said it didn't matter because I was 5 minutes out anyway. That bothered me because I drive an hour away to see this doctor (which I reminded them about during the call in the morning) and it would have been very inconsiderate to cancel my appointment that I was on time to if I were to arrive at 11:45 instead of 11:30 - which is only a 15 minute difference. When I got there, they still had me wait in the waiting room which was weird because they made it sound like the doctor was only waiting to see me in order to leave. The appointment itself went fine but it did seem like the nurses were in a rush. The doctor still made sure I had everything I needed and that all of my questions were answered. This office has called me on multiple occasions when I have appointments to ask if I can come in earlier but they have never told me that I would have to reschedule before. I schedule my appointments 3-6 months out and on some occasions miss work for them. I think it would be better if they were more flexible with patients that need to come in at the time they scheduled. If the doctor won't be available at that time, then the appointment shouldn't be scheduled in the first place.
