Although I was happy with Dr. Patel, he isn't able to take me on as a patient, which is contrary to what we were told before we made the appt. We were told that although Aurora Green Bay doesn't perform stem cell transplants, the hematologist/oncologists provide post-transplant care. So we drove three hours one way thinking I was going to meet my new oncologist. Unfortunately, because I have GVHD, Dr. Patel can't treat me. Had we been told that, we wouldn't have driven six hours to see him. I would suggest in the future that the cancer nurse navigator review a patient's chart thoroughly before telling the patient he or she can be treated at the GB facility.

My experience was so helpful. Doctor Patel and the nurses and scheduling people were pleasant and at the Lombardi Center and very thoughtful.
