I have the perception that there is a culture at this providers office to promote the UroLift procedure for BPH. At two previous appointments, one of which was a procedural exam I have received literature explaining UroLift. Then at this visit, the assistant taking vitals, again mentioned the UroLift. Satiating it is a popular procedure. I explained I had done some research on it and that I was not interested in it because of the higher likelihood of needing a repeat procedure in 3-5 years. There are other procedures with less incidents of needing a repeat procedure. In my research I have found that there are dietary habits that if followed can also reduce the inflammation of BPH but have not been advised of these options at the office. In fairness, the Dr. did not bring up the UroLift at this visit.
