This virtual experience never existed. I was online 10 minutes earlier than my appointment at 10: 30. The doctor never joined in at 10:45. I shut down the computer.

I called with a concern of an infected wound on my foot. The scheduler was super helpful in understanding my symptoms and root cause. I chose to visit my primary doctor's office vs going to an urgent care, since I could get an appointment that same day. My interaction with Dr.Mathai was extremely disappointing. Upon entering the room, she immediately advised me that I should have just gone to urgent care instead of seeing an internal medicine doctor. I explained how the injury happened, the pain I had for several days, and why I was concerned and chose to see a doctor at all. She did not explain to me if she thought the wound was infected, if she thought it was something to be concerned about, and did not provide a course of treatment. She looked at my wound and sent me for blood work, with no explanation as to why. I had to take initiative and ask her how to avoid infections like this in the future, and she was not helpful in advising me a course of treatment or prevention of future injuries. At the end of the visit, I did not have any further knowledge of how to treat the infection, if there were any concerning symptoms I should look out for, or how to better care for myself in the future. Further, the whole experience made me feel like I was bothering her by making the appointment. I have never had this experience with any other care provider at Aurora.
