Dr Murphy, and his staff, are excellent at providing expert health care. He is one of the best primary care physicians that I have had and I am pleased to be in his practice..
I do have one complaint. It is not at all about Dr. Murphy or the clinic staff. My complaint is about the impossibility of contacting the clinic directly. All efforts at communication are routed through a central switchboard, and only they can speak with the doctor's office. If I have a question about an appointment or a form they asked me to fill out, all I can do is call the central number, and they will call the doctor's office, then the office has to contact me, at which point I may or may not be able to take the call. And if not, then the whole process has to begin again. I'm quite sure that the current system saves Advocate money. Is Advocate quite sure that the current system is serving patients well?
Dr. Murphy was very patient in listening to my multiple issues. This was a new patient/first time visit and he spent a lot of time with me which was much appreciated.
My wife pays $400 a month for insurance and her company pays another $1000 a month for insurance. I have to pay $20 for a consultation so I can tell him what medication I need. Once I have the prescription I need to pay another $20 as copayment. Anything else you'd like to know of my experience?
DR Murphy addressed my specific questions re my health issues and provided useful follow-up information.
Dr. Murphy and his staff were wonderful and showed compassion and understanding during a difficult time. He provided medical advice in way that was very helpful and easy to understand. Additionally, he provided a plan to assist me through this.
This was my first visit to this new office and to Dr. Murphy. Highly recommended!
