Foremost, it takes far too long to be seen by a doctor in the Aurora system when making an appointment. I feel that doctors have too many patients within the Aurora system to be able to see their patients in a timely manner. Many of my former doctors have left Aurora. This may have something to do with it. Staff need to and should want to protect patients from airborne illnesses by wearing masks, and true HEPA filters should be in exam and waiting rooms. So thankful my doctor masked, but no one else did. Reception staff was sick and coughing and talking to each other about currently being sick. I really like my doctor. She is fantastic and I feel like she really cares about her patients. She spent a lot of time with me. However, the nurse at my most recent visit was unkind, rude, and also did not record my weight correctly. Guess she was having a bad day, but a health appointment is stressful enough without a grumpy nurse. When making the appointment, was told it could not be scheduled as a yearly checkup because I was also having health concerns, so my insurance did not cover it. What is a checkup for? Are you not supposed to bring up health concerns at a checkup??? Unfortunately it would have taken literally months to see my doctor if it were labeled as a checkup. Very frustrating. Not impressed with the Aurora system overall, but what can I do, no choice and no worse than others in the area. Would also be fantastic if all costs for tests were disclosed at time of service.
Dr. Kiyono was very thorough. I am impressed at the level in attentiveness and care she has. I have never felt so comfortable and confident around a health care professional before. She ran tests that I didn't even think to think of and found my underlying problems and that I couldn't be more thankful for. Thank you so much to her and her nurse for being so kind and compassionate. Keep up the amazing work!!
