I found out I was pregnant and Debora was the only doctor available at the time to get scheduled with (makes sense now). She told me I was overweight (I am 5'1 and weigh 148)- I work out and lift weights. I have always had an athletic build. She kept repeating to me that I was overweight and my baby would be at high risk for preeclampsia.. she recommended that I take Aspirin starting at 12 weeks.. unfortunately I have ulcerative colitis and I cannot take NSAIDs. She also told me that tanning was "out of style" and I need to stay in the shade this summer when I asked if I could attend afternoon pool parties at my in-laws house. She also recommended a high fiber diet which I cannot have because I have UC. This appointment felt nothing like a pregnancy appointment. And I am very sad because we never were able to have an ultrasound. The woman at the front desk had no idea when the doctor wanted to schedule one (I didn't either because I was left so frazzled). I'm sorry but I do not feel like Debora should be seeing pregnant women. She has no compassion and made me feel stupid for asking questions.... Like I should have known the answer to them.. this is my first pregnancy and to say I'm upset is an understatement. I have switched providers immediately after my appointment.
