I will never return to see Dr Wiske ever again. His MA absolutely wonderful, she was truly a pleasure. However, if I ever have any needs/concerns that would require this specialty I will find someone else or go out of network. He had no interest in listening to what I had to say. "You assumed you have this, you assume wrong". I assumed nothing. I had a problem and went to my PCP who gave me a Dx and a referral. I have had wrist issues for years, but this flare was different and lasting longer. When I saw my PCP I had severe pain and limited functionality of my hand. While waiting to see hand surgery I followed recommendations of wearing a brace and did hand therapies to regain mobility and function of my hand. I also work in healthcare and providing care to patients was difficult, sitting around waiting for the appointment to come wasn't going to work for me. It was important that I did what I could to make things better. By the time I saw this provider I still had some pain, although improved, and persistent numbness/tingling. The functionality of my hand greatly improved due to my home tx and wearing a brace. The improvement doesn't mean that the dx my PCP gave was wrong, it just means what I was doing was working. Again, I had assumed nothing and it is very upsetting that that is a comment in my chart now. The only good thing that came out of this appointment is the referral to spine, and that provider is absolutely fantastic, respectful and is providing appropriate treatment and care.
